SAMR is an ICT integration model which functions similar to the levels of thinking in Bloom's taxonomy. SAMR has four levels namely; Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition. Lower thinking skills such as remembering, understanding, applying are associated with substitution and augmentation level of SAMR model. These involve using basic technologies to replace or enhance the traditional tools. Higher thinking levels such as analyzing, evaluating, creating can be used in the modification and redefinition

At the end of the lesson, each student will be able to ;
Define what degradable and non-degradable things in their own word without referring to the textbook
Draw at least two differences between degradable and non- degradable thing in their own words after the discussion in the class
Tell at least five examples of degradable things and non-degradable things that they use every day
Explain why degradable things are useful for the environment while non-degradable things are not .
Lesson introduction (8min)
Greetings
Introduce the lesson using a video.
After watching the video, I will ask two students what they have learned from the video.
Lesson development (30min)
Information input (5mins)
Explain what degradable and non- degradable things are.
Share some examples for each using the pictures
Explain the meaning of decay
Activity 1 (10mins)
Instructions - I will let each student to open their google docs and write answers for the following questions.(5)
What are degradable and non-degradable things ?
Write two differences between degradable and non-degradable things using a table.
Activity 2 think pair share (15mins)
Instructions
Firstly let the students to think individually about the advantages and disadvantages of degradable and non- degradable things respectively
Then each individual will find a pair and share their thoughts with one another. If the strength of the class is odd one of the pair will have three members
Follow up activity
After the discussion between the pairs, I will let some pairs share their points to the class.
