Digital citizenship teaches you how to protect yourself from online threats like cyber bullying, scams, and malware. It emphasizes responsible online behavior, including respectful communication and protecting your privacy and others'. By being a positive digital citizen, you can contribute to a more inclusive and productive online environment.
Knowing what digital citizenship is also important for the students and teachers who are active in learning from online. The technology is the vast collection of information and due to this learners are online most of the time.
Modelling what responsible digital citizen is by the teachers to the students is very important in this 21st century.
Teacher has to be a responsible digital citizen by acknowledging the sites that they got the information, by posting only useful and important information instead of fake and unwanted in the social media platforms. And also respecting other and oneself when online. Additionally not sharing private information and password with others and by using the time effectively and efficiently when online. Since teachers are the role model for the students, students will imitate or follow what and how teachers behave when online. Teacher need to showcase all the good characteristics of digital citizen.
