TPACK

The TPACK model is a framework designed to help educators effectively integrate technology into their teaching. It focuses on three key areas of knowledge that educators need to possess for successful technology integration:

  1. Technological Knowledge (TK): This refers to the understanding of how technology works and how to operate different technological tools. It includes knowledge of specific software, hardware, and troubleshooting skills.

  2. Pedagogical Knowledge (PK): This encompasses the knowledge of different teaching strategies and instructional methods. It involves understanding how students learn best and how to design engaging and effective lessons.

  3. Content Knowledge (CK): This refers to the in-depth knowledge of the specific subject matter the educator is teaching. It's the understanding of the concepts, facts, and principles within that discipline.

Lesson plan 2.

Subject: science

Topic; Making connections

Class; IV

Time ;45 minutes

TLM; PhEt simulation, quiz

ICT model: TPACK

Teaching Method; collaborative learning

Previous knowledge;

  • What is electricity

  • Uses of electricity

Learning objectives

At the end of the lesson, each student will be able to;

  1. Define circuit in their own words

  2. Construct a circuit correctly using the PhEt simulation

  3. Explain why some electrical connection works while others do not

  4. Give at least three examples (instruments) that we use in our lives which use electrical connections.

Engagement (15)

  • In a group of 4 to 5 members, provide two copper wires, a battery and an incandescent bulb. Let the student use these materials to make the bulb glow.

  • After that explain what is meant by circuit and materials needed for construction of complete circuit to the students.

Exploration(10)

In the same group, let the students make different connections as given in the figure, using a PhET simulation to investigate whether the bulb will glow or not. And record the finding in the table. https://phet.colorado.edu/sims/html/circuit-construction-kit-dc/latest/circuit-construction-kit-dc_all.html

Explanation (5mins)

Let a student from some group share their findings; whether the bulb glows or not and explain why some glow while others do not.

Elaboration (5mins)

Ask  each student to list down five devices or objects that need electrical connection which they use everyday. Then let them share their examples with the class.

Evaluation (10)

Use Quiz to check whether the concept is clear or not.
