Informative Tool
Informative tools are the digital resources that provide access to vast information and ideas through various format; text, image, graphic, audio, and video. The main purpose of informative tool is to help individuals to learn, understand , and stay informed about a specific topic, issue, or the area of interest.
Some of the ICT based information resources are; TV, radio, encyclopedia, multimedia, resources in the internet.


My reflection on the informative tool 
After learning about informative tool I found out that ICT is an effective tool for the valid information because one has the opportunity to search for the information using various formats; text, image ,audio, and even video. And on top of that, one can also analyze and evaluate the information enhancing deep and authentic learning. There are numerous benefits of ICT as an informative tool some of them are;
  • it provide repertoire of information that supports learning
  • facilitate learning by providing access to information which helps in personalized learning    
  • helps learner to develop research skills  by encouraging them to explore and then think critically
  • provide learners to analyze and evaluate the information in the net 
  • provide opportunity to become life-long learner 
By learning informative tool I also realized that we can create a simulated lesson on one slide power point including all the format (text, audio, video, and image) that we have learned to teach any concept in the  primary classes. For this I have created a simulation lesson on the topic "life cycle of a bird " for class IV, Science. 


The main purpose of creating simulation lesson on life cycle of a bird is to make student understand how egg grows into  chick, and then into adult bird and how this cycle continue to exist. From this lesson student can learn and understand about the life cycle of bird not just from the text but also from the audio, video and even images catering to all the types of learners.
This lesson can be used anywhere, anytime by anyone (any student) and I think this lesson will be effective as no student will be left behind, every learner is considered in this simulated lesson.

 I have learned how to create a single slide power point for this particular lesson. So if I share the steps or instructional process that I carried out to prepare this lesson.
  1. I gathered the relevant information on my topic in the form of text, image, video from the internet.
  2. then I analyzed and manipulated the the information and started to write it in the power point.
  3. opened the power point slide, inserted a rectangle and dragged it from the top left corner to the bottom right corner.
  4. then I changed the fill color of the rectangle and wrote the topic "life cycle of a bird" , subject "science", Class "IV" on the first page.
  5. added animation to the topic, subject, and class.
  6. repeated the 3rd step and hid the first slide of the power point.
  7. I selected 'with previous' animation in the animation plane so that the slide will run smoothly one after another.
  8. repeated  step 3, and wrote several text and inserted images 
  9. recorded an audio using audio recorder from the tool bar and inserted in the slide.
  10. Inserted a downloaded You tube video
  11. play the power point .

 SAMR is an ICT integration model which functions similar to the levels of thinking in Bloom's taxonomy. SAMR has four levels namely; Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition.
